I drove my car all the way to Branson , Mo. last weekend. From Atlanta .
It's a pretty long haul. ( 725 miles each way )
I left Friday morning at 2:00 am. Drove 725 miles.(12.5 hours )
Went to some shows Friday and Saturday night. ( I really like old music )
Then I left at 2:00 am Sun. morning and drove back to Atlanta. ( 725 miles )
My family said I should take my '99 pickup with air conditioning , but I couldn't stand not taking the '69 camaro on a long-haul roadtrip.
I just wanted to see if the car and I (and my sweet wife) could do it.
I didn't have the first problem with the car.
It got 17.82 miles per gallon (overall average).
The new Arizen seats and the TKO 600 trans.from Classic Chevy 5-speed really helped !
The only bad part was no A/C.
Coming through Memphis in the heat of the day was pretty miserable.
Anyway , I love roadtrips.
Branson is pretty cool if you want to see some classic entertainers while they're still around.
I went to see Bill Haley's Original Comets. http://theoriginalcomets.com/
They were the first Rock 'n' Roll band.
I had to see them before they got too old.
They really rocked out for guys in their '70s and '80s.
Their drummer did a solo that sounded like Tommy Lee .
No kidding. Double bass drums and everything.
The guy's 83 and plays drums like he's 20.
I was thoroughly impressed.
