i was wondering if there were any other good places to find pro-touring cars for sale other than on this site and on ebay.
have been into porsches for many years but ready to return to my roots, i see lots of nice pro-touring cars on this site (like the silver camaro on the home page) but not sure where the sellers list them w/they are ready to sell.
so where do they go? how do i get on tract to find the ex magazine cars, and the whos who of pro tourings past cars?
thanks

Most people I think build or at least supervise the build of their car, since everyone has different taste and ideas on what they like. Like everything else, I am sure there are those that get tired of a project and do not see it through. There have been several cars for sale here but we try to incourage members not to sale if we notice them getting a weak moment and consider listing for sale. That said I am sure there are cars out there for sale if you want to get something already done. Just remember it will always be "their car" not yours so try not to buy something from your local area. Maybe you could pm some of the members here (Charley Lillard comes to mind) that might have info on cars out there for sale. If porsche has been your ride lately then I am sure Charley or others can come up with one that could suit your taste, or at least point you in the right directon. If you have got a late model 911 turbo or cabriolet you want to trade in on a 69 cortez SS camaro396/4sp, give me a pm

You might come up with a short list of cars you would be interested in, including year and make, color preference, budget/target price, etc.... Put it in the "Wanted" forum, and see if anyone bites.
Other than here and on ebay or www.Cars-on-line.com , I haven't seen many out there.

If I sold my car I could build that new project thats been haunting me at night.. ;)
Real PT cars are hard to find for sale.. but search the places that Tony mentioned.. and welcome to the board! :)

You can also keep your eye on the Barrett Jackson auction that is coming up January 25th-30th..... you can go to http://www.barrettjackson.com and take a look at some of the cars to be listed........
Here's a good one:

They are out there, you just have to wait for the right one for you to pop up. Use Google and put in "Pro touring" that will give you a bunch of hits also.
Hope that helps...

I have a really clean 72 Chevelle with a 6.0l and 4l80e tranny waiting to be swapped in. I'd like 35grand US for it. E-mail if interested. HAHA!

One would have to pry the steering wheel out of my cold, dead hands before I part with my ride. I will drive it into the ground and then start over again. :seizure:

Ken....if you're a man of the financial means to own Porsche's, why not just contact Chip Foose and have him build you one? Actually...there are plenty of Hot Rod shops across this great country of ours that would probably jump at a chance to build one for ya. Provided (of course) that you could afford it. We're probably talking about $35,000 to $50,000 for a decent car by one of these places. Isn't that what a brand new Porsche costs anyway? I have to think Foose would be considerably more. But in the end....you'll get what you want.

Either the pic looks weird or the top rad hose needs to be replaced. (Camaro that bugger linked)

Plus the heater hoses can not possible flow water since both are coming out of the w/p.
I edited my other comments- and I apologize to you Allen!

Umm.... I was pointing out a good STARTER. Notice my first sentence there? It's got what looks to be a solid body, and nice wheels and brakes. It really won't take much to get this one into the ranks. All it takes is a little vision. Hell, this one is a lot easier to get to the "status" than my own car is.
