Since the body on my 69 Firebird conv. is so rusted, I decided to buy one in better shape to start over. Here she is at her previous home.

Currently the car is restored to stock, with the exception of a 400 hood and Camaro rear spoiler. It was a 350 2bl TH350 and now a 4bl Quadrajet. It does have a very nicely detailed engine compartment. I'll have to enjoy it as is for a little while, but I've got a rebuilt 400 with some dress up items, a completely restored front subframe with Speedtech arms, Hotchkiss springs & stabilizer, 92 IROC steering, all new Moog tierods, etc. on the previous car that I started. That stuff will get swapped onto this one at some point. I'd like to drop a nine inch under the rear, along with a 2004R. Torq Thrust 17&18's and some Wilwood brakes. We'll have to see how far the budget goes. Ideally I would repaint it a silver blue metallic with black striping, but don't think that will happen anytime soon.

Nice car. I'm doing a 69 firebird convert also. You are starting with a much better car than mine. Mine is at the sand blaster right now. Next week off to the body shop to get trunk, floors and outer cowls replaced. Good luck. Keep the posts coming.

Sam,

Thanks. This one looks like a good starting point. I started on one that had been my dad's but it needed too much work that I couldn't do myself. Hopefully I can find a home for that one with someone who has the capablility of replacing all the metal that it needs.
