Someone brought in a poster for Wards 10 Best Engines for 2007. We were shocked to see that the LS2/LS7 did not make the cut but yet Chrysler's Hemi and a Mazda engine got on there. HUH??!!! What criteria are they using to determine the finalists?
Anyone else seen this?

Usually the newly designed (as opposed to revised) engines get first dibbs onto the list.

yeah, they use a lame method. amcmike is correct, they like to only consider brand new engines for the year, with at least a displacement or generation update.
I feel the "10 Best" should always be the actual 10 Best and others should have to earn their position.

LS7 > all. *pending LS9 availability.
I hardly ever pay attention to any of the "big" auto magazine lists or ranks, etc. Perhaps if their opinions were a bit more objective than subjective I would respect them, but unfortunately--bias' prevail.

the LSx engines were designed by God him self and the T56 was build by the hands of Jesus.

All one needs to do is bust one down to see what an engineering marvel they are.
I'll never mess with a small block or big block Chevy again.
