1st of a 2 angle rendering. The title is a little misleading. This is the 7th generation F100 platform, but really the donor truck is an F150 (stronger frame, same body)https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2007/06/rendering1-1.jpg.

A hint at what we're looking at:
C4 IFS and IRS on air ride Shockwaves
460 bb or Twin Turboed Boss 302
Adapted 4L60E with Twist Machine paddle shifter (1st Ford Truck)
I was hooked once I saw them-Boze Shifters with satin black centers

Thoughts and comments welcomed.

Nick Crouch from http://www.surface-dvd.com/prices.htm. Big low rider influence, but great work.

That is just amazing. Totally hot! I'd lke to see you hide the turn signals behind the grille and turn the OE turn signals into brake cooling ducts.

Looks good and Steves idea is not bad either. You could maybe use them for direct air intake for the turbos if you go that route. I think the truck will look great. The step side bed is what does it for me.

Great idea, I'll pass that on. A soar spot we will encounter in the body is with the rear tail lights. Originally they are attached on the outside corners of the bed. In my first flareside aftermarket flares were used where the tail lights were recessed inside which made for a very clean look. From my understanding no one even makes the original fiberglass flares for this era flareside so we may go for a different option.

Also, I've located a 3" cowl hood. Would it be too cliche to add it or leave as is?

Leave it as-is.

I'm a member of the FHF club (Flat Hoods Forever!). Keep the original hood and keep the competition guessing.

Twist's Custom Shop will be glad to make you some one off taillights. Shouldn't cost much. Just provide the guts and lenses. Maybe pick up a styling cue from the wheels.

Steve that's a thoughtfull offer I will take you up on. Thanks!

Hopefully in the next few days we will have the rear view and have picked up the truck and dropped it off at the fabricator's. Still waiting on some measurements for Flat Out Engineering to do up the C4 bracketry. Guess I could start sourcing some parts in the mean time. I'll post up in the engine section for thoughts regarding the 2 engine choices. I'll look for your opinions there.

I agree no cowl. theres tons of room in the engine compartment anyways!

the rendering looks hot by the way! I love the color.

Keep it all in one place it's easier to find and it helps get the big picture of the build.

ps - looks like it's going to be a cool project.

Ok, so in keeping it all together I'd like to talk about the engine choice. Originally I thought about another 460 bb as you know the saying, "There's no replacement for displacement." The other option was a TT 302. I'm leaning more towards the 302 now as I think it will set the truck off...you know give it that wow factor. I could get away with a single turbo, but I'm working with an 80's truck not a flashy Cuda.

Weight I think will be close between the 2 since there's the addition of the the turbo, parts, and intercooler. I'm not engine savy, nor am I anything but an enthusiasts so forgive me if I don't describe things more technical like. I've been looking at HP Performance's (http://turbochargedpower.com/) Stage 1 intercooled Twin Turbo kit for the '79-'93 5.0. I know I need to have a stout block so I'm also am leaning towards their 302 based 331 Forged performer Long Block (http://turbochargedpower.com/Engine%20Packages.htm). Ford Racing Parts has the new BOSS 302 block (http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=9085) that was recently introduced, for the sake of having the name is this a worthy candidate for this application if forged components are used in the buildup? Another option is the 302 that is currently in the truck. I'm only wanting 550 - 700 rwhp so what 10psi so from what I've read my buildup doesn't need to be too serious as long as I replace my pistons and concentrate on my heads and cam. True or False?

Another item that's been keeping me up at night is weight ratio. Obviously trucks are notorious for not having enough weight in the rear to keep from popping the tail out under hard acceleration. Any thoughts or proven methods to combat this?

Finally, I've been thinking about a name for this. Always wanted a project so I could name it and a couple come to mind.

Insomnia
Blue Thunder
Not Just 4 Show
Constrictor - The bigger snake
Claymore

Still waiting on the rear view and to drop it all off at the fabricator's. Bare with me as Nick just emailed and said tomorrow we shall be rewarded!

sweet! I like how you kept the tailgate! for lights why not mount some in the rear roll pan and also some small round turns in the end of the box rails? I think its pros pick that makes them.

Oh I also vote for the twin turbo 5.0 based motor. have you checked out www.turbomustang.com? huge forum with everything you will need

Sure have. I believe I'm going to go with one of DARTs Iron Eagle 302/8.2 deck and 4.125 bore blocks with a host of goodies.
