tire clearence

I am having a rear narrowed and was wondering how much clearance I need between the tires and the side of the car. I dont want them to rub but would like it as wide as possible. The tire size is 315 35 17.

I run that same size on my camaro. I have about a half an inch to the quarter lip, and the same to the inner wheel well. I have not run into any problems so far. I do not have a lot of suspension travel, I could see if I had a lot of flex side to side I might get some rubbing.
