Anyone ever go here and race? It is only like 20min from my house. I am planning on building a car in the future probably a camaro, with the hopes getting a membership out there, just wanna know peoples opinions of the tracks. Sounds like a country club for race cars? The one time membership is kinda hefty and monthly rates are ~$90 but it looks like 30 min of track time is only $20. Anyone have track time out there?

You wanna race an F-body... in Texas?
Well, this is the place for you!

check out the HPDE and time trials sections to get started.

We're actually done with Cresson for the year. But we'll be back next year as well as other tracks around the state.
I've been around MSR-C many times, and its a very fun track. Great for beginners as there is tons of run off room (no walls to hit).
You don't have to have a membership to run at MSR-C, exactly. There are bunches of High Performance Drivers Ed events that run out there. You can enter their weekend event to play.

I did a track day out there in November of 2005 with an Infiniti club. It was a ton of fun, but that was also my first time to ever go to a track (and I haven't been again since unfortunately), so I can't really comment on how it compares to other tracks. I thought the facility was really nice; I certainly didn't have anything to complain about. The instructors out there seemed to know what they're talking about, but again I'm no expert.

If you get a chance to go out there and do a track day (which I would highly recommend before making the plunge with a full-fledged membership) definitely take it. I'd love to go back but haven't had the opportunity yet, and my daily driver is getting a little long in the tooth (for that kind of stuff anyway), so I'm not really wanting to beat on it as much as I used to. When I finish my Camaro, I'll definitely see about taking it out there at least once to see how it does.

Oh and by the way, it's not directly related to your topic, but you should check out Hart Photography (http://www.hart-photography.com/mtrsport.html). He's the track photographer out there. If you go out there on a day he's working, he'll get a bunch of sweet shots of your car, and you can buy prints of them off his website. I never bought any of mine, but now I wish I had've. My track day is so old it's not listed on his site anymore.
