I painted the chunk red and the axle housing black. I thought about silver or charcoal, but black looks good to me.

If I were rude, I would say skin tone, but that wouldn't be nice. :guilty:

I was going to have mine painted the color of the car (Tungsten Gray Clearcoat Metallic) but I have decided that I want it powdercoated, so I am going with a black matte finish.

On the chevelle its powdercoated sparkle silver and the center section is painted a gunmetal metallic. The powdercoat is great, just make sure everything fits b4 you powder coat it

HAHAHA You beat me to it. Remember that song "Big ten inch?"
My rear end is a combo of surface rust and a new aluminum cover, but it's a GM 10-bolt. It's actually 8.5".

body color (red) with a black center section. I've found that it holds up suprisingly well to road abuse too. (diamondt solo paint)

As soon as they are cut to the correct length, suspension brackets welded on and the ends are welded on, the axle tubes get powdercoated to match the housing. I wanted as strong and light a rearend as I could get (tubes are moly). This one will get a billet locker and 35 spline axles.
