View Full Version : Oddest Fabricated vehicles

I'm sure every now and again you've seen what i'm talking about. Where someone has through fabrication total created a unusual vehicle out of more usual one.

Here is a video I took (sorry for quality) at last years DreamCruise. Around 1 minute 11 secs you'll see what I called the "Chevellcamino"

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2007/06/th_100_19281-1.jpg (http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f321/ChimChim3/Woodward%20Dream%20Cruise%202006/?action=view&current=100_1928-1.flv)

Seemed pretty wild to me. I once saw 67 4 dr cutlass that had 30 inches cut out of the middle and then grafted together to make a odd looking 2 door. Anyone else some crazy creations?

Looks like those photoshipped minicars that were going around the internet a couple years ago, except this one's real!

Every once in a blue moon, a tri5 Shorty will rear its ugly head at a local show. There is also an el-camino that is fabbed from diamond plate from the doors back and a Ford focus that was turned into a Ute. The Focus Ute was actually done very well and doesn't look half bad.

On Jalopnik last week there was an M5 bimmer that was turned into a Ute down in Australia.

One cool rig that I used to see while in college was a Mopar wagon that had its wood veneer replaced with brick veneer. It looked awesome in a kind of Road Warrior sort of way.

VT - NICE! SMOY cannidate?

Perhaps this isn't so much odd fabrication as much as it is bad taste, but then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

You may have seen this one before. A local guy's early Mustanchero. Cracks me up every time I see it. This is not a Ranchero with Mustang body panels added. He fused two Mustangs, I believe.

I have been waiting for over a year to unleash the ultimate in themed medieval pro-something.

I was travelling on a weekend in No. Carolina and saw this vehicle in my hotel parking lot. I did not have a camera, but my buddy did and I knew where it would be later in the day. I paid a $10 entry fee just to take these pictures. My words cannot do this vehicle justice.

Here she is. Note the custom boulder-style beltline, hood-mounted dragon head, roof-mounted dragon wings, and custom sword door-ding protection.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

But what would the front be without the back? Check out the dragon tail exiting the tailgate, the continued boulder beltline, and the dragon spine spikes.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

Oh, and let's not forget the drivers compartment, custom tailored for today's modern dragonslayer. The beltline continues into the interior for that ever impressive continuous theme. The woolly mammoth dashboard and headliner coverings make even the loneliest 'slayer feel like he's back in his 'hood. And when in doubt, stab them with the gearshift.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

And, the grand finale. What self-respecting 'slayer would be caught dead outside the home without matching pillar mounted spears, seatback mounted hatchets, woolly mammoth headliner, and more boulders. But the best part is the dual chrome scorpions mounted on turntables. SWEET!!

Hot Rod Power Tour. I'm pretty sure I have more of it. It was just a frame with a windsheild, and some lights. The guy did the long haul.

It was a V-6 too.
I would have hated to ride in that on those rain days we had. I passed this guy one day (on the way to Memphis) and he had earplugs in. I am sure he needed them by the end of the trip.

Here in Johnson City where I live, there is this guy who fabricated a "rat rod" out of a sectioned.....

Chevy Corsica!!!

Strange looking beast to say the very least!!! Just imagine a rat rod with Chevy Corsica (NOT Beretta!!!) tailights!
