1.5 or 1.6 roller rockers for my set up???

ok guys after the 6 speed install and other stuff i finally got to take the nova out for a ride last night.....and i now realize my motor is gutless on the low end! it goes decent from 5000- 7000 rpm.... but driveabilty isnt the greatest so i just made a call to jegs to do a new cam and intake.
current set up is
nova 3400lbs
411's and t56
355 9.75 comp / with 150 shot of nitrous(few times a year @ track)
cast iron bowtie cylinder heads w/202/160 valves 183cc intake runners
edlerbrock vic jr bowtie II intake(single plane)
lunati flat tappet solid cam .528int/.534ex lift. i cant remember the exact dur but adv was well over 300( i think it was 312/322) it had a power band of 3500-7000
msd dist and 6 digital box

now what i ordered was a edlerbrock performer rpm air gap intake
and a lunati voodo hyd cam specs
.489 int and .504" lift,
268/276 adv dur
227/233 dur @.050
power band of 1800-6200
ok so the reason i ordered this was that years ago i had this same motor with a old flat tappet solid cam with .480 lift and 300 adv dur and only spun to 6000 and the car had more power and better drivabilty, and this cam seems to have a very wide powerband with the range and specs that worked good in the past
so now...i have this stuff coming i have a set of 1.5 roller rockers and a set of 1.6....which ones do you guys think will make better hp/tq ???

First thing to do is to make sure all your clearances are within spec. The 1.6 rockers will increase lift but not duration. This will put them ever so slightly closer to the piston. If you know the 1.5 clearances you can work out the extra distance on paper.

Putting 1.6's on will increase both torque and HP slightly (possibly by approx 10lb &10hp) as the only characteristic of the cam you are changing is the lift. You may discover though that you only find an improvement on the exhaust side. As long as it all fits and works happily together it's a suck it and see.

well im quite sure it wont have clearance issues, i had the 1.6's on it with the current cam and that cam has way more lift/duration and overlap. its just a low end pig right now .....kind of like riding a 125cc dirt bike ....all or nothing for power lol!
