I've cruised several of the online tire sites, but I'm not sure if I'm missing something.
I'm looking for 215-225 f and 245-265 r.

TIA.

The tallest tires I could find were in Summit mag.(Riken's) 255/50/17=27.1.Ran these just recently at the Big Bend Open Road Race at speeds of 140 for 120 miles. They did just fine.

I found a 275/50-17 and 255/50-17, but not a 295/50-17.

275/50-17 is probably big enough for what I can fit.

thanks.

Not sure about street handling though...

EDIT, sorry just re-read and see that you're looking for 245-265 in the back.

I have not been able to locate a fat 17" perfofmance tire 27" or 28" tall for the rear of my 68 Camaro either. I could fit a 345 with no problem due to deep tubs but all I can find is donut size 25" or 26" tall tires. My goal is to fill up the wheel well with a tucked tire. The best I can come up with is a 335/35/17 at 26.2" dia. It is wide enough but I am still worried there will be a pretty good gap between the top of the tire and the fender lip. I do not see anything in 18 inch either and I don't want a drag radial. Several tires sizes that I think would work have been discontinued. This is really frustrating.

I am in the same boat. I have room to go a lot wider but do not want to go to a rim that is bigger than 17". I will follow this post and see what other people have done.

M&H Drag Radial 390 / 40 - 17 [29.5" x 14.8") or 325 / 45 - 17 [28" x 12.1"]; diameter x section width.

Not sure if they meet your objectives though.
