New stainless tank [Archive]

After a grueling 3 month wait, I finally have my new Rick's Hot Rod Shop stainless gas tank installed. In case you're wondering why it took 3 months, it's because UPS damaged the first tank during shipping. I sent it back to be fixed but Rick's ended up making a new tank from scratch. Then the sump was wrong, but they fixed it before shipping it via truck on a pallet so it wouldn't get tossed around again by the caring folks at UPS. :squint:

Anyway, it's in and it looks good! Oh, and it holds a whopping 32 gallons! I didn't intend for it to be that big, but with the dimensions I provided, that's how it ended up.

Nice Tank! 32 Gallons same as I have in my truck (I get about 300 miles on a tank) I hope you get better with yours. Can you post more pics of the El Camino?

Considering the El gets about 12-15 mpg, I should be good for around 350 miles between stops.

Verry nice! My Camaro project was almost a 68 El Camino, but I couldn't talk the original owner to part with it. Again great looking Camino.

the Chevelle project? I loved the pictures and info on your

Thanks Jim, I appreciate your compliments (as well as everyone else's!)

Since I moved I haven't had time or motivation to get the site up and running with my new ISP. Maybe when it gets cold out again.

The Chevelle is moving along. I started removing what the previous owner did to it and started to put my touch on it. So far, the 10 bolt is gone and a FAB9 is in it's place. I installed ART bags in back along with Global West upper and lower control arms. When I get some more money, I'm getting a set of front uppers so I can install the Baer brakes. Once all the suspension is in place, I can measure the clearances and order some wheels. That's it so far.
