Ok here goes '67 chevelle w/ manual steering, swaping for the grand cherokee box. Pitman arm off the manual box won't fit the cherokee box. So I order one(pitman arm) from Speedway it fits the cherokee box but not the center link the tapererd hole is too small. What do I do, order or find to get this all together. :banghead: :banghead: :help!:!!!

Why in the world are you using a cherokee box on a Chevy?
See the parts are not made to work together the jeep parts have different tapers than the chevy parts.
honestly you can use steering boxes off of several years of GM cars heck I have one off a 71 Monte Carlo that should fit.

The cherokee box is a quick ratio piece, it is a saganaw, the rag joint from the chevelle works, the box bolt patterns are the same and it was 40 bucks at the local yard. So far I have about $240 in in my whole steering system If I can find a taper reamer to enlarge the whole in the pitman Arm
The pitman arm from speeway is for 69-72 full size cars

I think you may have the wrong pitman arm. You need one for GM mid size. My stock power steering pitman arm fit the cherokee box. The whole thing was a complete bolt in job. I don't think it makes any difference, but mine is a 70 model.

The Cherokee box is supposed to be a good one.
Call up Speedway and ask them about the pitman arm.
All Saginaw PS boxes use a larger shaft than manual. There are two basic tapers used on balljoints and tie rod ends. When GM switched to cast spindles in the early 70's, they went to a 10 degree taper, before that they used 7 degrees. The diameters varied with the size of the tie rod or balljoint but the tapers should be the same per model year. A 67 Chevelle would use a 7 deg taper.
