I have been thinking about rolling some louvers in my hood and inner fender aprons and I was wanting to know if anyone has any experience with them? I know most times people punch louvers with a press, but I don't have a couple grand for the dies and press. I am getting pretty good with my bead roller/metal fab so I figured I could make some louverd panels and weld them into the hood and aprons for pretty cool custom look.

Here are a couple of links.

I am hoping to acheive something like this, but he louvers moved farther back.

Would these louvers only be effective to vent air out or would they be at all effective to scoop air in? I'm thinking of using something like this for brake cooling, but I have my doubts as to how much air it would feed in.

I have read that they are really good for lowering under hood temps. That is why I was thinking of putting them in the hood and in the inner fender aprons (sides of the engine compartment). And I think they look really good, especially if you have a cowl hood or a scoop.
