Which Lokar thr. cable for .71 Camaro??

I got the bracket, kickdown cab., and TC-1000HT thr. cable for my '71 Camaro and the pedal end is not going to work. I know this is the universal fit cable, but the guy at Lokar even said it should work (before I ordered it). Which one are you using?

I used the universal cable. Did you try and dis-assemble the cable. I had to take the pivot end off it came with, and use the bare cable with the little knob on it on the pedal end. It fit into the stock little plastic retainer at the pedal.
