Hi
need your help and input.
making a 70 chevelle rally sport and need suggestions regarding the Rs stripes on the front fender and on the hood and/ or the trunk. it will be lower with a pro touring look to it. painted in dark green metallic with a little pearl. a wolkswagen colour.
with black areas on the fender and hood/ trunk.

Black interior with SS instrument and bucket seats. Yet to be founded /desided wich one. Maybe a newer corvette seats.

71/72 rear bumper with a 69 camaro Rs emblem on the right side of it. Maybe a black area on the bumper like 70 SS.
The grill getting a RS emblem from 69 camaro also.
It would be a little as Chevrolet could have build a RS, and sinse it never did get built, a little freedom in choises all a round the cars differnt areas.

454 with headers , th 400 and a 12bolt with 3.73.
coilovers on a narrowed frame. (can acctually fit 15" wide wheels in there.)

I know that camaro had the two regular broad stripes on the hood and trunk, but I looking for something different than that.
Maybee the two can become one? like Foose did on the 69 camaro on Discovery.
It needs to be different and yet be RS / chevrolet and chevelle RS not camaro. maybee a little corvette mixed in?
It may get a black vinyl roof to, if that would get it to look better.
every innerfender and support and wall under the hood will get the same green metallic. trunk to. No black satin

any one who got any idea ???

Looking foreward to get your help
Thanks

Not to mock your project, but I think you may want to play with photoshop or get a rendering done before embarking on this journey.

I'm all for different but what your descibing here sounds a bit scattered. Maybe I'm just having a hard time picturing it.

What's your passion about the RS option? Why not make it an SS or more true to it's pedigree?

How bout Green, black v-top and black SS ghost stripes.

Sounds like you've got cool project! I like the idea of turning it into an RS. I would say that you may want to look at some sort of hockey stick shaped stripe along the side similar to SS/RS Camaros. There's a lot of different graphics that'll work with that body. If it's the VW green I'm thinking of, black stripes may look too drab. What about white, silver, light green or a champagne/gold color?

I also like the idea of a single broad stripe on the hood and trunk, dare to be different. Not so sure about the vinyl roof though. It looks nice if you're building a high trim level factory stock car but if you are looking for a Pro touring flavor then slick, smooth and no vinyl is the way to go in my opinion. It's YOUR car so you ultimately you should do whatever you want.

I'm having trouble visualizing the Corvette seats in that big car....may be a little too small, I don't know.

Well, not to mock your answer it was not much help, but thanks any way.
I am not shure exatcly what you mean by scattered as I am from abroad. iIam not shure I got the right meaning of it

my passion about RS is nothing more Chevrolet and than beeing different. This is not an original SS car so modification is ok.
green it will be, v-top maybe but SS stripes are to common and not different or creative at all. I like the look of cars with them but "everybody" got ss stripes. thats to easy
Photoshop is one thing I do not handle so that I can not do.
it will be developet in side head and on paper/on car

I enjoy practising my english writing so your answer was welcome any way, and I do not mind that you "mock" my project and was not offended by your answer either. I hope you neither will be of mine ?

Hope this make sense
thanks

I think you are right. they will look small.
could go for original maybe, but...
I think it needs a mod to be Rs inside too.

Grab some seats out of a wrecked Mercedes, BMW or Lexus that are sporty. Have them restitched to match the rest of the interior.

Please don't put a '71/'72 Bumper on a '70.

That is one of the WORST LOOKING "changes" that anyone can due to a '70.

A '70 rear bumper with the "SS" pad on it would be cool, if you could make that SS say RS...

You could make an RS emblem that would mount over the top of the SS aready on an SS bumper, I think that would be cool! :headbang:
I would get some drawings done to make sure all of your ideas look as good as they sound.
Keep us posted

Or, get a sheet of CF milled out to spec, with RS instead of SS. :naughty:

This was my first idea, but I think that th 70 bumper is the worst designed part on the otherwise well dissigned car.
the 71/72 bumper is much niser. that is one reason.

And if chevrolet should have built a RS modell, I like to think that they wore a year a head on the bumper, and that next year the regular production modells got this because it looked better.

This idea is not put away yet. I am open for it because the black rubber and the SS emblem makes the 70 bumper much better looking

but Keep them ideas coming

I have been thinking of some thing like that, but it must something new to it.
I playing around with the idea of incorperate the sidemarking lights in them hockey stripes. Cut the hockey stick stripe up in smaller areas that is growing bigger and bigger till it is getting one long stripe along the side?
like the Cuda has on the side. the light could be the beginning of the stripe?
Maybe use two or three colours, side by side, that was more common later in the seventies?

why should I split the bumper, not a split bumper on a 69 camaro Rs???!!!:seizure:

This is a chevelle not a camaro clone. and since it never was made it stands more freely to use parts that fit.
And the chevelle bumper is not the kind you split and get good looking. As for the actuall splitting I would have used a plasma cutter. No problem

I don't want to be negative either. But are you on drugs? LSD maybe?
All I can say is I hope you have a ton of money.

A 70 SS Chevelle is awesome as is right from the factory. One of my favorite cars. Sometimes simpler is better. However, your car your money. Is this just a pipe dream at this point or a real project?

I forgot about this thread, so I'm late with a reply.

By scattered, I mean it sounds pieced together. Some Chevelle, some RS Camaro, a hybrid of a car that on it's own is classic and beautiful in every way.

As far as my answer not being much help, I was not providing an answer but replying with my opinion as a muscle car owner and enthusiast.

I'm not mocking your project but suggesting to think about how it will look in the end by using photoshop or a rendering before you invest time and money.

If you don't like disagreeing opinions, then don't ask a public board for them.

I hope you prove me wrong.

No no
you do noy sound negative at all. No no...
You´re so positve and keeping you to the issue of the original post

What is it that you think will cost a to of money to do? paint? or...?

a 70 Chevelle is good looking and will be even better looking with a 71/ 72 rear bumper.
The SS stripes are genious but everyone got it or getting it. I am not shure there is possible to create anything better or equal.

as for the question if its real or not. does that matter?
