ok, well a couple of friends and i are contemlating building a small block for a Nova that a friend owns. We want to do something different so we decided to go with a single turbo for a power adder. i would like to get some feedback from you guys on what you think would be a good size turbo for what we plan on building and some info on turbo cams if possible ( what is different in terms of lift, duration overlap/lobe centerline, etc for turbo motors). We are going to run a 355 with all forged internals, single plane intake,850 or so blow through carb, msd 6btm box w/ msd pro-billet distributor, aluminum heads by Jegs w/ 2.05 I/ 1.60 E valves, 197cc intake runners and 72cc chambers (8.5:1 CR). any feedback or help will be greatly appreciated. We want to do around 600-700 flexplate hp anh tq and not exeed 8-10lbs of boost. we are also going to be running a th-400 w/ a 3500 stall converter.

Sounds like a nice project.
I would start by calling someone like Precision Turbo or Turbonetics to help you pick the right turbo for your application. As far as cam choice, I would call someone like Comp., etc.
Another great place for info, is turbomustangs.com.
Good luck, you guys will LOVE the boost!

Check out ls1tech.com under their Forced Induction forum. They deal with LSx and previous Chevy combo motors under pressure.

You might want to contact the guys a TEC in NORCAL. Their phone number is 1-800-950-8872. Jason can help you with the turbos and all the materials to fab up your system. As far as the cam, you want to go with a decent amount of lift with short duration on a 112 centerline. Too much duration and the boost will push the air/fuel out the exhaust.
