I am helping my grandpa put a set of double hump heads on a gm crate motor. This is the crate motor http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=NAL%2D10067353&autoview=sku
He wants to change the cam also. He is not looking for tons of power. He mostly just wants a lopey idle so that it sounds good.
Thanks for the help

Comp Cams XE268 ??
It would work well with a compression ratio between 9.0:1 to 9.8:1 and you can run it on 87 octane.

The Isky 201271/281 (http://www.iskycams.com/timingchart.php?product_number=201271281&timing_chart_id=128) is a good choice
221/232@050
465/485 lift
108 Lobe Seperation
It will make power from about 1000-6000RPM with a nice choppy idle without ruining driveability.

Maybe one ofthe new Comp Thumper series ?
Supposed to sound awesome and not kill the idle too bad.

One of the Comp Thumpr cams or a Lunati Voodoo cam evenDont let him forget with the double humps its gonna need premium unless you get a cam with atleas a 110 or even a 108 cl too much ceter line and it will over peak the cylinder pressure and be detonation sensitive, i had this ina 355 with 991 truck heads a steel shim gasket and pistons down in the hole 018.
You can also spring for a set 051 thick headgaskets(ithink they are actaully GM gaaskets too Ill try to find a number)to cut compression.
double humps with flat tops make a tad over 10 to 1 unless they have had a lot of unshrouding around the valves(take chambers out to almost the edge of the headgasket sealring).
Good Luck
