I have a dillema. A salesman at a local Chevy dealership want's to buy my 2000SS Camaro. High book for the car is $14,400. It's in perfect condition with 36,000 miles. I wouldn't mind getting a 2002+ Z-06 Vette, which is what I would replace it with. Should I sell and get a Vette, or stick some $$ in the SS so it will perform with the Vette?

Have you ever driven a vette? They are awesome. If I could afford one I would buy one in a second. They are not as practical as an SS but you get what you pay for. And with a simple head and cam swap they really scream. And they look gread lowered(really easy).

Any need for the backseat? If not, get the Vette.

My wife thinks so... She has a SS Trailblazer, and I have a new Chevy truck...and the '69 Camaro, and that has a back seat.:screwy:

You need to take her for a ride in a new Vette to dinner and then a little road trip to a nice hotel and start a romance with the idea of only room for 2 and buy what you need along the way :bananna2:

It was once described to me as camping the easy way in style

Well, I sold the SS. I don't have any seller's remorse yet... Probably because my wife said that she wanted me to get a Z06... as long as she can drive it occasionally. I can live with that! :bananna2:

Unfortunately, she is having some hopefully not too serious issues with her pregnancy, so the disco ball will have to wait a little while.:fingersx:

The late Camaros are nice but they're still late model cars. No cache & exclusivity like having an older car. Get the Vette & don't look back.

I have a '73 Camaro
I have a '78 Corvette

I am selling the Camaro... The things that I would need to do to make it perform like a vette is long.

PS.. I am LOVING the vette right now.

I don’t want to hijack this thread but I have been thinking of getting a C5 Corvette also. It will have to be a daily driver if I do. How do they do for daily drivers? How is maintenance like brakes, tires, oil change, ext. Oh and fuel mileage with a 6 speed? Thanks Guys.

You could drive one everyday in the right climate. Brakes are really cheap, $50 a rotor and I think $100 for a set of pads. Gas milage is better than my F-150 for sure.

Those all black Vettes are really hot looking! They really lend themselves to the "industrial" or "street fighter" look.

I say sell the SS and buy a Z06-Because thats what I did. I sold my 98 SS and bought an 01 Z06. There was absolutely no comparison.
