Eye candy--468 Long block finally done! (well almost)

Here's a few pics of the progress on my "new" engine. It is a 468 BBC that we are building using a MK IV 454 casting # 14015445 ('78-'90 2-bolt mains).
It has been slow going, especially since it is being built in Italy, but we have made a lot of headway in the past couple weeks.

Here's the block stripped, prepped and bored and ready for parts to be installed.

The block is Marked "Pass High-Perf," Which means, from what I have been told, well, basically nothing

New Speed-Pro Pistons for BBC 468 c.i., Forged, 0.215 in. Dome Top, 4.310 in. Bore (10:5:1? or so)

Woo-hoo! We now have a complete long-block 468. (28 May 07)
--Brodix Race-rite heads in place.
--Note link bars to hold the roller lifters together--this beast has a hydraulic roller cam

Gotta love bbc.

How high you planing on spinning it? BBC's have heavy valvetrains, and the hyd lifters do not help. If you spin it high, you may want to consider stuc girdles.

Thanks--I'm thinking I doubt it will see much over 5500 rpm...mostly street and I don't plan on drag racing it much. I will probably rev limit it at 6k anyhoo. I guess stud girdles wouldn't hurt, but as much as they cost I'm thinking I can do without em.
P.S. BTW the intake, oil pan and fuel pump are bolted on now...the engine bay is prettied up and painted...I will have the new pics to post soon...:naughty:

We found a small stress fracture on the engine crossmember. You can see the bare metal spot toward the center of the pic where we ground it for welding.
