I would like to find someone making a-pillar gauge pods for 1st gen f body's. If not does anybody have a tech thread or install pics of one they have molded to the stock a pillar? what glue or will fiberglass be fine? I have found threads about this but they stop about a year or so ago. One guy says his car has a mustang a pillar pod that works great but never said what year it was for. Help is appreciated!

I bought one for a mustang as a temporary solution to mount my boost gauge and shift light. It fits and looks ok, but I am still looking for someone to make a real, molded A-pillar pod as well. The Autometer pod I bought has a grain finish on it, and my '67 has smooth A-pillar trims, so it doesn't match perfectly.
I plan to have one custom made if nobody steps up and starts making one. I'll get a pic or two posted of my gauges, but I have to take off right now. I'll get them up later.

I have been looking like crazy...I couldn't find anybody making them so...I elected for major surgery on a ford triple pillar, fiber-glassing it to my stock pillar, when finished ill send over to the paint guy to finish up with my car.

Here are a couple pics I have of my pillar pod. Like I said, it doesn't match perfectly and was supposed to be temporary. If you were to use this pod on a '68 or '69 (that have grain finish on the A-pillar trims) it would look better, IMO.
This is definitely a product that I believe there to be a demand for, and I don't think it would be difficult to make. Sponsers, are you listening?

I second that man, most people would at least consider using this set up if given the choice. I just finished my second layer of fiber glass tonight and have a ton of sanding ahead of me. I used 3 pods because I didnt want any gauges mounted in the dash, but im sure that two would probably look a little better. I will included some pics tommorrow the ones from tonight are pretty blurry.

I modified the originall to put a speaker pod in. You could do the same with a gauge.

How much would one pay to have a molded A-pillar pod in the same OEM finish ?
I have been working on a few things at the shop, looking for some projects to make some extra income and this is one of the things I was thinking of.............
Thoughts ?

I bought a pillar for a late model $60 and have spent about 3 hours fiberglassing it to the stock one, I will drop it off to my painter to paint with the rest of the car. Concidering my time invested and the fact that limited numbers assembly of pillars couldnt possibliy compete with other mass-produced units if I needed another I would pay between a 100.00-120.00 for the unit with a nice stock finish.
