Okay, it was "restored" back to its original Australian appearance, de-uglified from the Pontiac nose that the USA cars received.:hah:

Here is my project GTO, fresh from the paint shop (Richey Collision in Houston, TX). We installed the Monaro nose and emblems, and a set of Ruff Racing 19" wheels/tires. The wheels are hyper black with machined lips under clearcoat, which are important for low maintenance since this is a daily-driver. I had to roll the rear fender lips to clear the tires.

The Holden Monaro nose and emblems came from JHP in Australia. Richey Collision did a great job on filling in and smoothing the gap and holes (http://www.ls1tech.com/06GTO/monaro10.jpg) where the license plate typically would mount on the bumper.

The color is a factory color for 2006 cars, called "Brazen Orange Metallic".
Now all we need is the APS twin-turbo to show up from Australia :headbang:

If you are going on the Hotrod Power Tour, I'll be doing the long haul from Texas to Ohio to Arkansas in this car.

I like the look of the wheels, you nailed the choice. What size for the rears? 285's?

Looks killer man, Love the Brazen Orange. You must have $15 G's in rims/tires alone for all your projects in the last couple weeks

Looks great, Tony! All GM had to do was bring over the Holden as is, and they would've had much more success with the GTO platform, IMO.

Agreed. It looked better in Holden clothing than all disco'd out in Poncho couture.

Nice job Tony.
Was surprised when I read the Monaro (GTO) wasn't selling well in the US. That was until I saw the beautification treatment given by Pontiac. uuggh!! Took a beautiful car & ruined it totally.
While on the subject, same problem with the G8. I'm usually a Ford man but must admit the current Commodore looks terrific. Then once again Pontiac bend it over with their "branding". If they want to sell cars, surely the sane thing to do would be just re-badge the bloody thing rather than put a clown suit on it!

The Manaro nose looks so much better than the GTO, you have a beautiful car (actually a very nice collection of beautiful cars  ).

I don't understand why GM didn't at least put a decent looking set of wheels on the GTO from the factory?
