Can a Truck really be Pro Touring? I already have late model Camaro suspension, drivetrain in my 1955 Chevy PU & I plan to do more but, am I waisting my time with a truck? I can't help but ask myself everyday "Should I be spending my money on this truck or be happy with the truck as is & spend my money on a Muscle Car?". I use to have a Pro Street 69 Camaro & sold it to buy my house 5 years ago & now that I've been bit by the Pro Touring bug I want another Muscle Car so bad it makes me crazy. I don't have the budget to build 2 hot rods........

If a musclecar is where your heart is, see if you can realistically sell the truck without taking too much of a loss. If you can move it, go for it. Hotrodding is all about swapping one toy for the next. I know how unmotivated we can be on particular projects when we want something else.

You hit the nail on the head NineBall except, My wife is partial to the truck & well lets just say I won't bring up selling the truck anymore.
The truck is fine & running condintion. Other than a little interior work & regular up keep I don't really need to spend anymore money on the truck. I'm just beating myself up over wether or not to go all out & build the truck up full boar ProTouring or Get me a Muscle Car.

If that's the case I got a real nice '66 Nova full tube chassis for sale!:fingersx:
Just Kidding!
Go for it! If your hearts not in the truck find the car you want to build and do it!

My next plans are full a full on Pro-Touring truck. Like the others mentioned. Only you can make that final call! I have the Nova which really bugs the heck of me sometimes and I really enjoy it sometimes. Most notably when my trans wants to shift or clutch slip. But I am probably not the best answer because I will be batting from both sides of the fence. The 76 Chevy short box 2 wheel drive will be full Nascar Truck styled with all the Pro-Touring bits. I like to be a lil different so I wanted to do a truck to break out of the mold a bit!

AS for me I liked the looks of the 56 f100 that Air ride Technologies had and it went around a road course before being sold.
Look here even if its a Ford http://www.ridetech.com/streetchallenge/imagepopup.asp?ipath=sc06-56f100_t.jpg&size=L

Nothing wrong with a pro-touring truck. I remember seeing a guy build a Ford F-1 pick-up and run it on the Silver state challenge. I am working on a 96 Explorer for a pro-touring.

Goin on 15 years. The wife made me buy mine within a hour of seeing it for the first time.(and I wasn't even shopping for one)
(a truck that is)
Although it isn't 'full on', it has given me no probs for well
over 100,000 miles and will be the next poject.

One of the original PT rigs was a baby blue mid-50's truck. It was in CHP 3-4 times in the first year that Smith started really promoting the style.
