Mom's grocery getter 1946 Panel

Well I know there are some trucks on here so I figured I would show what my pops and I have been working on for my mom. It is a 1946 panel truck; it has a 93 Camaro LT1 backed by a truck 5spd. The front suspension is a Heits kit using M2 components; unfortunately Heits is about the only manufacturer of aftermarket suspensions for trucks this old. The frame is also mostly boxed. The rear end is out of a 90 (I think) IROC Camaro with the stock 3:42 posi and disc brakes. It also has lowered leafs in the rear. The body has been dipped and is in amazing shape, almost no rust. The body will be mounted to the rotisserie this weekend and bodywork will start. Also starting this weekend are plumbing the fuel lines and roughing in the steering. The 42 cab that is sitting on the frame in the pictures is what we have been using to measure etc for steering components since it is basically the same vehicle from the firewall forward. Anyway, I will try and post some more pictures later.

Holy *****, that is incredible for a 61 year old body! It looks like a brand new shell. And a very cool project to boot! :drool:

What make is that, will be awsome rod when its done. Any color choice yet?

Both the panel and the truck are Chevrolet. As far as colors go probably a deep wine color to the belt line and then a silver or champagne color for the top.
The really amazing thing is that the panel came from Wyoming. When we stripped the doors there was still a mark in the steel from when it was just sheetmetal stock. I think it says something like US steel and something...

no kidding, howd you come across something that old thats that clean, everything i get seems to be rusty and a pain to weld or repanel.
