I've got a 63 pontiac with a 283 (canadian, i know.) my dual exhaust setup currently runs with the cheap red hot glass packs, and i'm looking to be less loud and drony. since the car is really low, i'm wondering if how the hushpower II will compare. the size is nice, but is the cost worth it for my needs? thanks!

I have the Hushpower II's on my '67 Camaro. I don't have a ton of room for mufflers due to my HTH truckarm rear suspension, so a tube-style muffler fits the best.
My car has a full stainless steel 2.5" system with an x-pipe and rear-exit tailpipes. I am pretty happy with the sound of the Hushpowers. They have a nice, deep, throaty sound, but don't have too much of that "drony" sound you speak of. They are fairly quiet at cruise, but get loud when you mash the throttle.
BTW, I think the Hushpowers are going to flow better than the cheapy glasspacks and be much more durable.
Hope this helps,
Andy
