We put together this video which really shows how much flex there is in stock Mopars and how much our stuff reduces that flex.

The video was shot while the car was on a 4-post rig running opposite corners of the car in pairs at the same time - i.e. Front Right and Rear Left wheels get lifted, then the opposite - Front Left and Rear Right.

It's pretty interesting stuff.

Here's some pics of the pieces that we developed.

Cool stuff and video. I do have one question, does chassis flex only affect the front of the car or if you put 2 pieces of tape diagonally across an open trunk would it have similar effects? If it does, how would you fix that? I mean if your rear is coming out of square then your rear end is moving as well. I would love to see a video of a trunk and see if it flexs.

Once again cool stuff and good research!!

Excellent video and a really simple way of showing it too. I was expecting to see gauge readings and measurements

The other place we did the tape exercise was on the passenger compartment, not the trunk. Tape is run across the compartment as well as in the door frame. There wasn't much flex there on the Mopars.

We didn't find a real need for stiffening the back of the car, otherwise we would have addressed that as well. However, we do have a piece for converts we use on the back of them that we will likely offer as a production part as well.

The masking tape provides a great visual, but we also did full torsion tests as you can see in the last pic. In fact it took us a couple of tries, and changes, before we settled on the final components.

This is the machine that it was done on - a four post rig. It's primarily used to optimize spring rates and shock valving as a total package as well as identifying any imbalances, but it's also useful for other things that would be extremely difficult to find or visualize in any other way.

...love the music too! who is it?... I don't know for sure, but I'd guess Joe Satriani. Even if it wasn't one of his songs you could check him out because that's his style.

LOL - Thanks!

When I was editing the video I realized it needed some better sound than just the car gettimg bounced and people talking here and there.

So I went and looked for some royalty free music and found some that I thought would work well. So I don't know who the artist is, it's music made to be used for video's, on hold on your phone, etc.

We're hoping we get alot of people thinking about building Mopars! We've got some very serious hardware for them now and more on the way. Dare to be different!! :twothumbs

John,
As soon as Hughes Engines charges my card for the Stage II heads and roller lifters and rockers I am going to get most of the stiffening components. I don't think the engine compartment brace will fit for me (centrifugal SC) though.
I need to replace my floor pans in the 'cuda. With the sub frame connectors, is there a way to make installation easier if you have yet to do the pans. ie. tack the connectors to the pans then fit the pans or install the connectors and do the pans?
Thanks.
