Its a popularity contest. Its supposed to be a member rating system, but you can do whatever you want based on someone's posting. There is no recourse for those that give bad ratings for no reason, or vice versa.

Other boards I am a part of have the same "reputation" rating and it comes in handy. If you give helpful info in a post then you get "repped," or a postive rating. If you are just blowing smoke then you MIGHT have someone give you a negative rep.

99% of the time only the positive rep is used, for a good post. Unless there is some complete BS or someone is just being a jerk negative reputation is rarely used.

Go to your own user CP and click "Edit Options". It'll tell you your points there.

I have no idea what it's about either. Probably a way to track seller's reps in the "for sale" section more than anything. Like Ebay's feedback.

lol, I'm only at 10 points. I think 10 may be the default setting for all members? I dunno. I believe we're going to do away with this system and the green light setup in favor of LS1tech's Trader Rating system.

Not a very good system.

I just turned it on and it's not been fully setup. I think I will kill it this weekend if I can't figure it out.
