View Full Version : 200-4R, slipping in and out of lockup at 65mph

During my last trip, the 200-4R had times where it was slipping in and out of lockup around 60-65mph. The lock-up is controlled by the break switch and the TV cable seems to be adjusted correctly, all other shift patterns are normal etc..

Anyone got any ideas?

It's a Bowtie Overdrives Level 2 unit with the TV made EZ kit..

TIA
Tony

Tony,
I know it sounds basic, but check your connections at the fuse box and break switch. I had the same problem.

Thanks Dave, haven't made time to look, but I'll do that.. hopefully it's as simple as that.

If it's not a loose connection check the lock up solenoid , I had on go bad once and did the same thing

If not the solenoid, it could still be the TV cable adjustment. The correct way to adjust the TV cable is with a pressure gauge and is a pain in the ass. Bowtie Overdrives recommends the pressure gauge method over the "pull the cable" method that most folks use.

I remade the connections on the switch, tested it and it never slipped out once... I hope that was the problem. Thanks guys...
