I trust you guys with actual painting experience way more than I do the guys at the local shop selling stuff. Experience counts.

I painted my frame with that Nason Chassis Paint I mentioned in my other thread and it/I did pretty good.....EXCEPT.....

I either had crap in the air or overspray got the best of me.
Most of the vertical surfaces are fantastic considering I'm no painter but my Horizontal surfaces...the tops of everything, ...has a slightly rough, texture-y feel. Not orange peel, ...it's worse.

I need to repaint it. I've scuffed / resanded the top surfaces of everything already.
** Can I get away with the 'rolled over tape edge' trick and only repaint the top surfaces or do I need to basically sand the vertical (side) surfaces too and repaint the whole thing?

It's no show car, but I want it to look nice ya know?

Nasson Chassis paint is bad about wrinkling if sprayed too heavy. Either speed up when your spraying or adjust your gun to where your spraying less material. Don`t know about feathering it in to the rest.

well, ding-dang it.
I've already sanded 80% of the 'top-side' and *then* I get the brainstorm to use this stuff that's been in the cabinet for as long as I can remember.

This stuff takes off whatever was giving me the texture. Felt like heavy overspray but I really don't know what it was.

What I do know is that I wish I'd have tried this stuff before sanding! :pat:

Any tips for how to proceed with the re-paint are still needed and appreciated though.

Well, if anyone needs to know for their own painting future, that "rolled tape" trick is DA BOMB~!!! Worked Perfectly to blend new paint with "last week's" paint.

That just tickles me to death! No need to get out any light rubbing compound or anything like that.

Instead of having a 'hard tape line' you peel back the leading edge where the new paint will be and curl/fold it back.

As you spray the new paint, it helps to soften that paint line. Sweet stuff. Saw it on one of those weekend car shows last year.

I just now laid this tape out as an example....
