Did anyone else here see the April 27th airing of American Muscle Car? They did bone stock engine dynos of some 1960s muscle car motors. All were as stock, no ringers. 426 street hemi tested out at 800+ponies:hmm: ... thats not even a close race. Next in line was the Ford 427 at 600+. Everyone else was way below that, including Chevy L88 at barely over 500. I know the Hemi is awesome but 800+ with iron heads bone stock... hmmm.

Let's just say that I have personally chassis dyno'd some resto'd muscle cars and the numbers were nowhere near that high.
Most were pulling in the low 300RWHP range

I saw it too. BS leave it to the dodge boys to bring in a ringer. Just like the Dodge boys bringing NOS to run in Pro-stock. "We dont know how the Nos tank got in our dry sump tank. Honest"

Hey..youre right...I forgot about that. Remember how Aldermans shop got broken into the Monday after that incident and ALL their heads AND all their intake manifolds were destroyed and they never found out who did it. It was a year before they could rejoin the Prostock cercuit and then they couldnt make a competitive showing. They said it was because they had to 're-develop the technology' they lost in the break-in. ...uh-huh...:dunno: It used to just wow me the way those two guys would pass the competition in the last 60 feet...EVerytime...
Seriously though.. (with this engine comparo) if you were small enough to want to cheat on this, wouldnt you want to be smart enough to make it beleivable at least? They just may have made a typo error...shoot, I dont know.

The L88 numbers are probably honest.
I've seen one do 400+RWHP on the chassis dyno; much more than that is BS
