big problems with brakes.

Ok, so I did my own hydraboost unit with the vette mastercylinder. The brakes worked awesome last year. I could adjust the proportioning valve so I couldn't even do brakestands, or I could adjust it so I could. Near the end of the year I blew my front braided BAER brake lines, limped it to my girlfriends where I put it on jackstands and found out that my rears didn't work either!:hah:brutal hey?!

so now I just re bled all of the brakes, put new calipers in the front. Fired the car up and put it in gear(car on jackstands). I have barely any rear brake pressure, even when adjusting the proportioning valve. It WILL stop the rear wheels when in drive but barely. Then when I pump the brakes I get no rear brake pressure.

My fronts work fine from what I could tell.

Sounds like a piece of junk stuck in the lines or M/C maybe?

Can you release any pressure when the lines are cracked at the m-cylinder?
I'd bypass the p-valve and see what it does.

what do you mean by release pressure when I loosen the lines?

I'm seriously thinking it is my mastercylinder. Its a reman that I paid 35 bucks for(from the parts store). I'm going to get a ac delco one that is brand new and see if that fixes my problem.

did either side of the m/c run out of fluid? if it did you need to (bench bleed) it

I think the first question to answer, is the mc making pressure to all the wheels. If not than I guess it would be the mc or the booster. Put a pressure gauge on the connection exiting the mc. If pressure ok out of mc than check each wheel. If not ok than bleed, or something in line or proportioning valve. If ok than caliper, disk or pad problem

Similar happened to me on my impala ss. if any air bubbles got into your master you will never get full pressure to the wheels.

My father and I bled the whole system to no avail. Still happened the same as last year, BUT now I have front brakes because I replaced the broken lines.

Even if my front brakes leaked all the fluid out, my rears would still have braking power correct? Cause I had nothing when the fronts went(which I was lucky cause I JUST rolled it into the garage when all brakes were lost)

If air got in the master it would only affect the circuit that had air in it, correct. Sorry that was my best guess. Good luck, i will be watching for the solution as i am considering hydroboost for my camaro
