Hey I am starting on my 1969 camaro and planning on getting the frame on the rotisserie this week. I look to put a 496 big block with all of the updated suspension conversons for pro touring and of course the smoothest black paint you can imagine. Let me know ideas you fellas have that have been in this first stage that would be good ideas for me. I will post pictures soon.

Welcome! I guess my first question is what do you plan to do with the car? Will this be a dedicated race car or a car that you can cruise on the street and do some "spirited" driving around town? Will this car ever see the track?

Thanks guys! My brother and I actually went in 1/2s with the project. He has completed a 69 camaro from junk to show in the late 80's so he is not familiar with the new technology. I just sold my 2006 z06 corvette to fund this project so I am very familiar with all the neat stuff that is out there, Now I need the forums' help to show me the way to great parts and ideas. I am interested in doing an awesome suspension and back it up with a 496cu in big block. The car will be set up for street and not afraid to run at the track but I am not worried about track setup. I already miss the power of my z06 so I am more in tune with the big block power of the 496 and the technology that includes corvette like features.
Question number one....How hard would a 2002 z06 rolling chassis be to fit under a 69 body?

This is the "beauty" we are starting out with...missing the tag on it but the vin is there with title...I will have to start with getting a trim tag.

You might do a search as I'm sure this has been discussed here before, but I would think that would be a huge amount of fabrication and money.
You could achieve similar handling characteristics modifying the stock suspension setup. Lateral Dynamics 3-link would probably be your best bet for rear suspension, if you're looking for the handling of a Z06, and something like the Art Morrison front clip (which utilizes C5 components).
The suspension options and combinations for first gen camaros are vast.
