View Full Version : Residual Valve on Front Brakes?

Working on my brake set up, and I see that the previous owner installed a residual valve on the FRONT brake line between the MC and the proportioning valve.

Besides 12" 1LE front rotors, the rest of my system is stock power brakes with drums in the back.

Why would there be a residual valve installed on the front brake line?

The front of the master is hooked to the rear brakes Nick.

Really? The line coming from the front of the MC (with the residual valve) goes into the front of the prop valve, then the 2 closest lines go to the front brakes.

Is it hooked up wrong to begin with? I wouldn't think the fluid switches sides in the valve... does it?

Here is how it's hooked up.
