How about an 82 El Camino?
I am thinking simple changes but making it PT themed and keeping it low in cost so I can afford to work on other things, so here is the (sic)Short list of mods:
1:Swap in my 402 BBC so as to get it out of the weather.
2:Built 400 switch pitch, maybe 700r4 later or T5/T56/TKO
3:Southside Machine Lift bars for straight line traction and adding 73-77 A body 12 bolt.
4:3.55 or 3.73 posi
5: CoolRide all the way around and beafed up sway bars.
6:Still keeping the A/C for cool cruising.
7:Keep the big 11 in read drums for now to keep cost down
8:ZQ Blazer spindles and brakes with hawk pads and tall ball joints from SC&C for now, maybe some new upper control arms.
9:Cowls hood and fix rusted (frame is solid)panels and keep the color simple and smooth.
10:Simple reappolsterof the front seat or add in some good buckets and a console and tinted windows.
11:Custom bed cover.
These are just some bright ideas and it would give me a chance to fix up my truck before it dies of corrosion.
I found some aftermarket semi met rear shoes from the 70s and figured it would be good for now.
I was even thinking of suede for now and the 4dr Malibu that someone has on here with the blown 383 even sounds cool.
A friend of mine has a 355 with an older B&M on it even, that I might be able to pick up cheap.
I am thinking of wheels but havent quite decided yet,I was thinking of the black spokeNASCAR look with big ol fatties on it?
This is just to use up some current parts nad get my truck out of service so I can fix the rust. IE it can still haul a few things like the truck.
Any ideas?
Lee
