Looking for directions on how to disassemble my 72 Nova steering column. Need to replace the column shifter hub with a stock 4 speed hub. Looked through my overhaul manual but found nothing. Did a quick Google search but found nothing specific. Never messed with one before so I do not even know how the ignition switch comes out yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dave, On my '70 the auto column was permenantly locked in the neutral position. The column shift 'nub' was then ground off, the hole filled, then painted.

There is a "arm" that is on the bottom of the column, so long as that is disconnected you don't have to worry about anything. If you don't lock the shifter collar from moving around, it may move into a place where it won't allow the key to work (if column equipped) if it has a dash mount key then don't even worry about locking the collar in place.
