XV Motorsports is hosting an open house on Saturday June 16th which is open to everyone who loves classic muscle cars and high performance boats (read on about the boats)! We'll also be holding two very special drawings for this event.
Our showroom will be open and we will have on hand a wide array of XV Supercars and rare original muscle cars including some original HEMI cars and even a factory Super Stock race car.
Bring your own muscle car or or any cool ride as our facility has a huge parking lot literally right on the Hudson River. We expect there to be a large number of very interesting cars - it should make for a great car show as well.
We will have music as well as complementary food and beverages for all.
You'll also have a front row seat for the National Power Boat Association's NY City Poker Run, one of the largest offshore power boat events in the nation. If you've never seen really extreme offshore V-Bottom and Catamaran's in action, this is a perfect opportunity. The starting pack is reserved for boats that run over 100 MPH and the unofficial bragging rights for participants is for who gets to the Tappanzee bridge first - we are just two miles south of the bridge. So you'll be able to see the fastest boats letting it all hang out.
Our friends at Ocean Performance in Old Saybrook, CT will be here as well with either a maxed out Cigarette or Outer Limits offshore performance V-Bottom boat that you will be on display and you can check out. These two manufacturers build some of the hottest and fastest boats out there so you'll be able to check out something really special.
Just to make things a little more fun, XV Motorsports is offering two drawings for those who attend.
One by land and one by sea:
-A bonzai run down the Hudson River in XV's own 1000+ HP 38' Cigarette Top Gun named "Loose Cannon" <br>
-A ride in one of XV's full tilt Mopar Supercars
You can see pictures below.
To be entered in the drawing for either of the rides we're offering, you need to submit a form in advance and let us know you're coming! You'll also need to indicate whether you want to try for the boat or car ride. Click for Form (http://www.xvmotorsports.com/media/Open_House_Form.pdf)
If you've been thinking about coming out to visit us to see our vehicles or our products this is the perfect opportunity to do it!
We wanted to make this something special and are hoping you will all come and join us for what should be a very fun day.
We look forward to seeing you on June 16th!

John, Scott and Pete
We are in with 2 full bore PT cars-Pontiac and Ford to add some flavor to your awesome Mopars. Tell Pete to get Mr. Angry there too and I will let Nick with his Vette know as well. Let us know if you need anything.
Brad and Josh
PS Are you removing those speed bumps on the way in to your shop or do some of us need to install AIr-Ride ? Seriously is there another way in without those bumps ?

How soon would you need to know if we're attending? I'd love to go up there with the Monte, but with the way my (and my wife's) schedule is, I usually can't plan anything until a week before. Mapquest says your shop is under 45 minutes from me, so it would be a great ride if I can go!

45 minutes is real close - I know there will be alot of Mopars, so your Chevy would be a welcome addition!

Brad, look forward to seeing you and Josh there! I know the windows will be rattling when you guys pull up!
Dirk, counting on seeing you there also in the Burly Camaro! Make sure you tell Ken also, his Mustang is awesome!
Also looking forward to seeing a certain black 1968 Charger round the corner into the lot! Just seeing that Angry Mopar machine come down the steep hill on Main Street makes me think "Bullitt"!
Not sure who will have the bigger grin when they get back................the winner of the Cigarette run or the winner of the XV Supercar ride!!!!!
A good time will be had by all!:rotfl:

We're hoping to see a bunch of pro-touring cars tomorrow!
We don't know what the total turnout will be, but we have people panicking we're going to be swamped. We know of quite a few cars that will be there for sure, some friends of ours shipped in two cars from CA just for the event, including a 70 Cuda running a small block w/ twin turbos.
The boat that will be on display is a brand new 39' Top Gun Cigarette running a pair of 700's. Our friends from Ocean Performance will be there to show people the boat and give tours of it.
Loose Cannon will be docked nearby as well ready for run up and down the Husdson for whoever wins the drawing.
We'll also be handing out/announcing the first info on the Open Track event we have put together for October.
Anyway, looking forward to meeting any of you who make it and should be a good time.

Ditto, you guys ran a great open house, your hospitality and friendly atmopshere was second to none. Please do it again. Thank you very much.
Dirk, post some more pics.
The 69 Camaro of Steveo C. with the paddle shifter was extremely well done, as were the Chargers of Angry and his buddy with the 6.1 Hemi. Pete's Dart is a nasty car. In fact every car there was literally top notch.
And the Poker run, never had I seen such an event, especially loved the chase helicopters going under the TZ Bridge.
Going to play Powerball to buys some XV cars...........

My friend and I had a blast today! Vanzuuk, sorry I missed you too, I thought that was your Camaro on the end, it looked very familiar! It was nice to see Mike (Mr. Angry) again, and meet Steevo from TwistMachine and his wife and chat for a few minutes. The red '69 he drove up there today was killer; I was honored to park next to that machine.
There were a host of amazing cars there today. The craftsmanship and level of detail were phenomenal. Viper Cuda, the twin-turbo 'Cuda, and the XV Cuda absolutely blew my mind! I have some decent hi-res pics; I will e-mail Larry to see if he can host them somewhere.
Thanks again to the crew at XV, you have an incredible shop and showroom. That would be an awesome place to work every day! I had a wonderful time, and hope you guys will do it again soon. And thanks for letting me bring my Chevy up!

Thanks a million for coming. It was nice to see some SERIOUS pro-toring style cars. The 73 TA was insane, I need to take a much longer and harder look at that one. I know I'll be busy playing catch up to you guys in my garage....
I'm glad everyone had a good time, hopefully we can do it again at some point.

5 hour drive up and back for about 1.5 hours on sight but well worth the effort! Great shop with some great cars, the XV Challenger ROCKS!:worship: I was hoping to see the XV Cuda also but the challenger was everything I hoped it would be. Their giveway bag had the Dream Car Garage series of builds in it, so nice bonus.
I had forgotten how much they rape you for tolls between MD and NY... sure ended up being one expensive t-shirt.

I've been around the block once or twice. I've toured a bunch of hot rod shops. I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen a shop as impressive as XV Motorsports. It screams professionalism and quality. Think art gallery meets exotic car dealership meets hot rod shop. XV has hit on an important concept: Anyone considering a rare (ultra-expensive) Mopar or high end pro-touring car should not be subjected to a dirty, sloppy, cramped shop. The facility and staff inspire total confidence in XV cars, products and after-sale experience. The quality of their builds is top notch. I looked for flaws in the cars and came up empty.
Am I being emphatic enough? Thanks for having us.

That's exactly what I was thinking! The showroom area is immaculate, and the windows looking into the shop are a very nice touch. The shop is spotless, and the back of the facility by the offices and waiting area is incredibly clean as well. With an environment like that, how can you NOT turn out some awesome cars!

Just wanted to thank John, Scott and Pete for an excellent open house. My brother (ALLFAITH) raved about the shop, but seeing is really believing. Prior to starting my own business, I was inthe auto field for 15 years and have visited shops all around the country - by far XV is the most professional looking shop around - not to mention the products they produce are second to none. I guess if Brad and I sell the lot we can buy one?
About 15 years ago I saw Pete's Dart at Carlise at a MOPAR show - it blew me away then and still does. In my book he is the God father of Pro Touring. One sweet ride Pete.
If the weather is nice planning a Bear Mtn. run Wed. night with ALLFAITH. We'll see if the T/A can keep up with the Stang.

A bunch of us noted that this was "our" kind of car show; just about every car there was lowered and tweaked in a pro-touring direction. No concours Paint-OK stamps that I saw, but some real muscle with nice wide tires all around. Like others said, everyone was pleasant and complimentary about the cars. And there was not a dog car in the whole lot.
I don't think XV could have hosted a nicer event, and I really wish them success in getting their excellent brand out there. John is living that concept that many of us have day-dreamed about: what if we had the resources and determination to go all out on truly top-shelf talent, engineering and quality... is there a Porsche/Ferrari segment of the musclecar market that would value that and respond? I think the answer is yes. I just wish they would spill over into the vintage Mustang market! I submit my Mach 1 as a test mule. :)

Ken, call me today about bear mt., I am in.
In some alternate reality it would be cool for us to tear up and down bear mountain like a scene in "king of the mountain" (old movie about canyon racing), But common sense and a heavy police presence means we will not.
That, and the hundred foot drop on either side of the mountain ...

06-19-2007, 04:48 AM
........ is there a Porsche/Ferrari segment of the musclecar market that would value that and respond? I think the answer is yes.....
On a business trip to Cali, I once stopped into Pantera International to shop for a car with a friend. PI is one of the top sources for choice Panteras. These guys run a Pantera magazine and manufacture/sell a bunch of OE and custom parts. I was expecting Pantera Mecca. But the place did not live up to my mental image, the cars were all jammed in next to each other. You couldn't actually inspect a car unless they moved them all. And no one seemed terribly eager to move the tighty packed cars. Everyone was focused on the one car being repaired. A lot of shops are like that. It's not intentional--and the shops don't start out that way. They just end up crammed and disheveled. We, of course, walked out empty handed.
Buying old cars is challenging enough. XV's philosophy instills confidence. Given the value of XV cars, the "art gallery" approach almost seems mandatory.
I have to go clean my shop now. :help!:
Josh,
Sorry I didn't get to meet you. I'm crazy about your Mustang. It's amazing that more people do not choose Simmons wheels.

OBI is still going strong, the only thing is you have to get up at like 6am to get a spot. What would be cool would be to do a meet up on LI and then a cruise out to Montauk or the Hamptons or something. I'll pretty much go anywhere, I just suck at planning stuff.
