This ECM looks interesting. Does anyone know anything about it? Is it available? Pricing?

Our ECM is available with our crate engine packages only at this time. The ECM price is included in the crate engine price. It features the latest technology released by the OEMs including drive-by-wire, variable cam timing, and widerange knock capabilities. It also has A/C control, electric fan control, wideband O2, and fuel pump control. The engine package comes with our complete wiring harness which simplifies installation.

Will it be available as a retrofit?

Shaun,

Can you be a little more specific please? The above paragraph sounds like some great marketing lingo, but how about some details? fuel and spark map resolution? auxlilary outputs? inputs? Bosch or NTK wideband? data logging? number of injector drivers? ignition types supported? high and low impedance injector compatibility? sequential or batch fire? individual fuel and spark trims? 2 step RPM limiter? spark retard for nitrous? perhaps some screenshots of the software? better yet software dowload....

Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew,

Here are a few details on our ECM in addition to what I stated above. It has a Spark map resolution is 16x16, a VE table resolution of 16x16, and a Phi map of 10x14. It has three user configurable outputs, but we use two of those for electric fan control and A/C control in our engine packages. Of the 14 total auxiliary inputs on our controller, we have 5 that are not used in our engine packages. There are 3 analog, one digital, and one pulse width modulated pin that are open. We use 7 wire NTK sensors for our wideband option and 4 wire Bosch HEGO sensors for our standard narrow band. The wideband capability is embedded in the controller, not a standalone option. Engine parameters can be monitored while operating, but there is no data logging memory imbedded in the controller. There are eight injector drivers, 6 of which are low impedance and 8 of which are high impedance. There are eight smart or dumb coil drivers, depending on the requirements of the engine package. It is sequential fire and has a global VE table trim, global Phi table trim, and cylinder to cylinder spark trim. We do have the capability of four separate rev limiters, but this feature is not standard and must be requested by the customer. We do not have accommodations for spark retard to work in conjunction with nitrous. As of now, we only offer the ECM with our engine packages, however, our first retrofit application will be for Gen III LS1/LS6 engines and will use a drive-by-wire throttle and flat response knock sensors, both which are included in the controller/harness package. Screenshots of the software should be in the calibration software page of the website in the coming weeks. A description of a majority of the software pages can be viewed at the link below.

This sounds interesting. Are the crank and cam sensors configurable by type? e.g. hall effect, inductive etc? What about the crank trigger wheel do you need the 24x early LS wheel or will it work with the 58x later stuff? Is the fueling speed density or mass air? Can it do alpha-n?

The ECM is capable of both hall and mag. sensors. Crank and cam sensors are configured for many domestic V8 applications. We will configure the crank and cam patterns in house whenever customers specify their engine packages. While the ECM is capable of mass air, speed density, and alpha-n, our engine packages run on speed density with an alpha-n backup.
