Good Recruiter In Massachusetts?

I need to find a better job!!! Anyone here from the Massachusetts area that may know of a good recruiter? I have posted on monster.com and a host of other job board sites but I dont seem to be getting the hits I need. I currently am a Manufacturing Manager with 17 years experience under my belt. My degree is in Business Administration. Just seems that all of the manufacturing jobs are outside of the New England Area. Any help would be appreciated!!

Hmm, too bad you're not in marketing or database analytics because we are hiring. Try the local boards like craigslist.org and bostonjobs.com. When I moved to Boston about this time last year I started fishing my resume out after we bought our place and I didn't get anything back for 4-5 weeks. I was starting to get a little concerned and thought my resume/cover letter didn't fit the area like it did in California but all of a sudden I got 7 call backs in one week and 5 interviews. I had a job offer on the table after the second interview...

Be pursistant and make sure you market yourself to what the company needs and how you can help them. Good luck with the search.

I don't know the manufacturing industry, but the Boston area has a very strong tech hub that pays pretty well. Like you, I have a business degree and I am not technical, yet I work in technology. Any thoughts of changing industries?

Coincidentally, my company (a very large software/hardware company) just sent out a memo today reminding us of the $3K referral fee for new hires. :naughty:

Mark, I work for a product design firm in the Merrimack Valley and we staff 4 or 5 engineers with a lot of manufacturing experience. We've had several discussions about manufacturing moving out of MA. Honestly, it's cheaper for them to set up shop elsewhere since MA regulates and taxes businesses to death, literally. It seems as though, consultancies are plentiful though, especially in the 128/95 technology belt.

My bro-in-law actually works for Monster.com in Maynard. I don't know that there's anything beyond posting your resume on there that will help you more.

There's tons of online headhunter services like careerbuilder or monster.

Phil, you bring up an interesting point and one that I did not think would be a viable option for me. I have a business degree and have been in manufacturing for over 16 years. I know my experience and skill are transferable into other areas but I guess I didnt think it could be applied to the tech field. New England is a huge TECH HUB as you state. I would love to break into this field with my background. If you could pass my resume along to you company I would be willing to add $1500 to that 3K referral payout your company offers if I can land a job there. Same goes for anyone else out there that may be able to help me land a new job....

I have to agree with what Ben said alot of manufacturing is moving out of MA, its just too expensive.
Companies are keeping the headquarters in MA but moving all manufacturing to southern states where they are giving major tax breaks.

It might be time to also look out of state, lots of people are moving out of MA to improve the quality of life. I moved out of MA 2 years ago for more money, and the cost of living was less.
Of course now being in Oregon I've noticed a lot companies moving here from California.
