Hey guys how's it going? I have a 69 camaro with a 327. This is what I know about the engine, it is bored .60 over, it has upgraded heads with z28 springs, I am not sure exactly what has been done to the heads. It has an edelbrock intake and a holley carb. It also has an hei distributor. I would like to switch out the carb and intake with something that will make this thing run pretty good.
It is going to have a t56 tranny and a moser 12 bolt with 373's. Any help will be appreciated. here are the cam specs
Operating Range: 1500-5500 RPM
Duration Advertised: 268° Intake / 268° Exhaust
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 218° Intake / 218° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.5 Rockers: .454'' Intake / .454'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 110°
Thanks a lot
Ryan

I ran a performer rpm with a holley 650 double pumper on mine and she was very strong.

What carb and intake are on it now?

The carb is a 650 I believe, does holley make an 870? How do you tell for sure without knowing? Also the intake is an edelbrock but I am not sure of the model how can I tell by looking? I probably sound retarded but I am not much of a mechanic

Ryan,
What's the list number?

you'll find that number facing the front of the carb on the top right side...you'll see numbers.

Is the intake a dual plane....with the carb off the plenum will have a wall seperating the two sides.

some where on the intake it will have a number and a name in raised casting.

Ryan,
The 327 is one of my favorite small blocks...lov'em to death!...espically the eariler small journal ones that can rev 7 grand all day long!

What does your exhaust system consist of?

Here's my upgrade suggestions:

Performer RPM Airgap
Upgrade existing 3310 Vac sec 750 with downleg boosters, rear metering block and idle circurt.
MSD Pro-billet drop-in dist

I have some cheaper model dynomax headers, but I will probably upgrade headers and I would like to get this particular exhaust in 2.5" any thoughts? Also I know my 327 is an older one that uses the older style oil filter.

Hahaha it is far from mint, it pretty much needs all new sheet metal. It is going to be a frame off resto job. Thanks for all the help I am sure i'll have a ton more questions
