need Porsche help !!

ok i found a 914 near me ...ive always liked em and this one is a arizona car i couldnt find any rust..just a few bubles..what else should i look for on these cars?..the price is 1500 so i know i shouldnt be to hard on the car just dont wanna get in overboard on it..its suppose to run and drive fine..i do know the interior is shot but the car is so small it cant cost much to redo that in custom..any thoughts.. tips?..thanks

They ALL rust under the battery box on the right side front of the engine compartment. Look again and make sure there is little or no rust there. Other than that, any other rust should be evident.

These car can be made to handle like you would not believe. They are VERY competitive in vintage racing. There are also kits to install a chevy small block if you wish.

The most desireable is the 1973 2 litre car. 70-72 have a shifter problem do to poor transmission design that was fixed in 73. 74-76 had ugly bumpers. Parts are readily available. This is not necessarily a cheap car to fix. There are LOTS of bolt on upgrades such as brakes, transmissions and engine that make these cars fly.

Do not let this car fool you. A proper engine rebuild will be $3K for a 4 cylinder! This is not just a VW! A 914-6 will haul ass!

If it is really not rusty like you say, buy it at $1500.

hey Bill i sold 2 this week ..i can actually park my daily driver in the garage..lol..its kinda a convertible its a targa top..ive just always liked them..thanks for the info Mike..greatly appreciated..im browsing up on them tonight ..ill find year and stuff all out tomm..and pics !!

well looked at it again today..no one home no phone #..its soild 73 1.8 litre..will need a repaint and some interior stuff and new weatherstrip..if i catch him home gonna offer 1k bucks and stick it away for later.. hell if it runs its gotta be worth that..

1.8 is a fuel injected 1700, well it should be a 1700, 4 cylinder a van motor, 914's a famous for burning, watch the ends theat go into the heads they leak fuel and poof,
