I just bought a 67 mustang coupe for one of my 13 year old twins for his first car and would like to update the front end. Stock with drum brakes. Got any suggestions?

Probably the easiest budget upgrade for the brakes is to swap in the 1975 - 1980 Granada discs.

Do some fresh bushings in the suspension, maybe the 1" upper control relocation, and a set of KYB shocks. A one piece export brace across the shock towers, and a Monte Carlo bar across the engine bay helps to tighten things up as well. Maybe a 1" diameter front stab. bar. All of those items are available for reasonable prices from the various classic Mustang parts vendors.

What did you buy for the other twin? Im installing the fatman strut front suspension right now. It's kind of pricey but I really wanted airbags. You can still get shockwaves (air bags) that replace the stock spring and shock for like $900. I should back up, how much do you want to spend? There are tons of options for mustangs and Im sure you can find good stuff no matter what your budget is.

I am building an LS1 poweres S10 blazer for the other twin, but now that his brother has the mustang he is rethinking the blazer. Maybe his ride won't be as cool?

we are coming out with several kits for the 65-66 mustangs and some for the 67, our coilover kit for the 66 is the same as the 67 except for the upper arm. This kit ahould be available in AUG. It will feature top notch fabrication including a fabricated or Billet spindle with TIG welded arms and cradle.
For any questions please give us a call at the shop.
