I have the best wife a man good ever hope to have.
We are coming up on our wedding anny. this month and my wife bought me a project car. Now most of my freinds know that i have been looking for a 68/69 cuda coupe for a while now. I found one a month or so ago very soild car an price of $6,500 in witch we didnt have to spare at this time.
So i had just let it go, but if i sell the red camaro i might buy the car if it was still there. I had to go meet a freind that works for Good Mark to get some parts we had ordered an pass buy were the cuda was sitting at, But it was gone. So i tell myself good i dont have to worry anymore it gone.
Well a couple weeks go by an my wife finds out that iam looking for a better price on the net for a cuda that i can buy. she calls me from work the other day to tell me she wanted to go out to eat that night an i say ok.
When we get there she hands me a card to tell me how much she loves me an everthing. so i read it an tell her thanks an i love her too.
Then she says to open the card all the way up, so i do an this title falls out for a 68 cuda. it just happens to be the same one i had wanted.
Turns out that a few of my freinds from this web site an a few that i have known for most of my life help her set this up.
Iam so Lucky to have Her an some really good freinds!
Thankyou all (an you know who you are so just jump in here an rag on me)
Thanks

How'd you do it- I mean is it a pill you slip in her food, maybe hypnotism? Is there a place to send women for training? Or is it just a swift hit with a 2x4 in just the right place? tell the secret!

With Kristy and I, I think it comes from always thinking of the other in everything we do. That might sound corny, but I think it is true. Kristy reads a lot of relationship books, and not the silly, made for gals mars and venus crap, more along the lines of anything by John Gottman. She just read one called Love and Respect, centered on the idea that, while women need unconditional love, men need unconditional respect. I never would have articulated any of our difficulties on her "lack of respect for me," but it sure has helped to make a good marrige better.
Another thing is that we are always doing little things for each other, and sometimes you have to stop and "rememeber" to do them. Yes, when we were dating, it was easy to rmemeber to bring her a rose, or write a little note, and now I have to stop and think about it. But, I get more mileage from a note under her pillow when I leave for a business trip, or a rose in my hand when I get back from a trip to the grocery store than you would imagine.
I think a lot of it is the same as with sex, if you will. I won't get X-rated here, but the truth is that when you are thinking of yourself during the play, it's pretty good. When each of you is trying to please the other, it tends to be a little more on the incredible side of things. I think the same holds true with life, the more I think of her, the more cool guy stuff seems to be OK with her.
Kristy bought the Harley for us (OK, it's our money, but her idea), she supports the 442 fully, and she loves the ASC/McLaren we just got to take the place of the Harley. Why? I think a lot of it has to do with the notes, flowers, a quick house cleaning or home project done by me, those sorts of things. And, in return, she makes it easy for me to do those things because I know she is fully supportive of my "guy stuff."

That's awesome man, congrats! My mom did the same for my dad on their 25th Anny. My cousin was selling his 87 GN which he's owned since new (with only 25k miles on it) and my dad wanted it (as did I) in the worst way. My cousin calls my dad up one day and tells him he sold it to some dude who's got a Viper and some Vettes, my dad was so bummed, and I was too. I week or so went by and my parents got invited to my cousins for dinner, and he had the GN in the garage, so he made up some reason for everybody to head into the garage. Once everybody got in there my dad was like "what the hell's the GN doing here?" and my mom tossed him the keys....I thought he was going to pass out right there! My parents are cool as hell that way. My dad bought my mom a '73 Vette for the following year's anny. Pretty cool....I'd like to do that for my parents one day when I've got the money to, get them both the cars of their dreams.

Hey JP
Thanks
I had big plans for one of these then i got one that didnt have rust in it an now i dont know for sure.
I may build a tri.4 bar for the rear, i know the front suspension will be gone for sure as i have allways dislike them on early Mopars
It will have a 04 hemi out of a truck that i bought. i was going to use the auto out of it as well but mopar has a light weight flywheel for the hemi so it will get a TKO 600 now.
There is noway you could stop me from mini tubing this thing. You know what Stevo says 4 fat tires are better than 2.
I will be looking for ideas for the front suspension with the bigest wheel/tire combo i can get up there.
Thats all for now, nothing set in stone yet.

David, You are indeed a lucky man. What date is your anniversary? My wife and I just celebrated our 27th, on April 5. My bride only tolerates my auto obsession.

I can remember buying camaros an chevelles like this for $500 to $1000

Here I thought my wife was pretty cool by leaving me home all Easter weekend to work on my car while she & the kids went to her Mom’s for 4 days. I still think my wife rules, but a lot of that is because she puts up with me. :hammer:
But wow, I never got a car. Good for you!

very, very cool car. (cooler wife)
.... She just read one called Love and Respect, centered on the idea that, while women need unconditional love, men need unconditional respect. ....
my wife asked and asked me to read this book for nearly a year. not sure why i waited, but this book should be required reading.
btw, i gotta good one too. no surprise project cars, but she supports my dreams.

I must say I have a very understanding wife too. She has put up with many projects that has spilled over into her spot in the garage. I bought her a Corvette conv for mothers day 3 yrs ago. Now we are trying for another baby, so she wants a T/A or SS Camaro to enjoy on these pretty gulf coast days. And we are keeping the Vette, so I can take it over. Thats very cool.
Anyway, I am a firm believer in doing little things just to let her know that you still think about her everyday. Congrats on your car it looks great.
I love hearing stories like this. Congrats David.
