Hey guys, I've been eye-ing the ATS spindles ever since I found out about em, and I'd really like to order them within the next week or so, and I was planning on getting the 12.7" Touring Classics brake package to go with them. I asked Tyler a while ago if they'd fit my 16" Torq Thrusts and I think he said no, so for the past few months I've been looking at Vette wheels since they're so cheap on ebay. The thing is, that'd still be a lot of extra money just to get the spindles and brakes. So yesterday I went out and measured one of the wheels and I have between 15 9/16 and 15 5/8" from one side to the other (inside the edges, obviously).

So basically, 12.7" rotor + 2-3" caliper = should fit???

I figure, even if the caliper is 3" tall, at least 1" or so has to be on the rotors, so that'd still leave it as 14.7" total.

Anyone know how tall the calipers are? Set my mind to rest, please. I've been dwelling on this all day. :banghead:

You can download a template from touring-classics, measure and see for yourself. I doubt it's going to fit, the issues will be overall diameter and clearing the center of the rim. It seems the Torq Thrusts require a spacer even on a 17" wheel.

ATS is coming out with a package to make the spindle work with a 12" brake package. Call them.

Well I just measured with the template and it looks like it'll actually fit.

I may need a spacer between the rotor and the wheel (which is fine, actually, because when I switched to the 16's I got a rub at full lock turning), but there's definitely a good 3/8" - 1/2" of clearance all the way around the top of the caliper. Pretty shocking, really. :seizure:

Even if I order it and it does interfere, I could probably grind down the little fins on top of the calipers. I've seen a few people do that when they were desperate to get the brakes to fit.

I'd wait for a 12" kit, but I start school in about 3 weeks, so I'm trying to get these things installed before that happens (it's a good 30 miles away and I don't trust the drums anymore).

Thanks for the help, guys. :)
