Well I have been working on building my subframe for a couple of months now and today I fianlly started addin in the driveshaft tunnel. The plan is to make all the floorpans myself. Let me know what you think. Granted I have a lot of grinding ahead of me..... This is my first time attempting anything like this, so be gentle, but if you see something wrong let me know.
Begining. I got the car completely level, which was pretty tough, surprising it is totaly square...

Rear crossmember added so I can tie into the rear subframe and rear leaf spring mount

First piece of the tunnel installed. Since I don't have any clecos I used self-tapping sheetmetal screws. They will be remove and welded up once everything is finished.

I tried out the bead roller today. One tip if anyone is planning on ever using one of these, start out at a shallow depth then progressively make the bead deeper, using multiple passes, especially on 18 gauge. Other wise the bead does not turn out straight.

Installed, not bad for the first time rolling beads...

Well I got another section of the tunnel done today. I am getting better at rolling beads, but like everything else, it takes practice. Good thing these will never show cause the beads are less than perfect, but it is starting to resemble a car again.

Floor is coming along well.
Do yourself a favor and build a new frame for that bead roller. Also get someone to give you a hand when you are rolling the beads. Have them turn the crank while you are guiding the piece. it'l help with the straightness. I usually get my mom to give me a hand haha. Here is my *HF* bead roller.

Well I got tired of looking at the bad beads so I redid the two back panels and added a few more beads to the front one. I started working on the seat risers/pan you can see in the pic, kinda went nuts with the bead rolling thou...

Looks good. And I don't think the beads are too excessive. Not enough would be an issue. But yours are fine.

Well I had some free time so I decided to go ahead and make the rear floor board. It turned out pretty good, except the sheet distorted quite a bit while I was rolling all those damn beads. But I was able to get it straighten out. Oh and that piece of angle iron screwed to the sheet is just temporay until I can weld the floor in. Oh and I made another piece to connect the seat pan to the tunnel.
Oh and you gotta love all that flash rust!! It is easy to take off, but man it looks bad in this pic.

They help strengthen a panel. Basically keeps it from deflecting or bending.

Recent work, I made a place to mount the main hoop and added another peice to help transition from the crossmember to the tunnel.

It is a harbour freight bead roller, I got it on sale for like $99.

But I can beefed it up and made the stand for it by canabilizing an old Harbor freight engine stand.
