View Full Version : Replacing Hard Brake Lines w/ Stainless Braided

I'm installing a set of Baer discs on the rear of my '84 Monte SS.
Is it okay to replace the factory hard lines that run from the junction at the center section to each caliper with flexible stainless hose, like the Russell teflon-lined stuff?
Do these braided lines flex too much?

Thanks,
Rick

I advise against it. I would run hard line everywhere possible except the front calipers and rear line to diff segments.

This has been covered in a coule conversations in the last 3 months or less.

Definately a no-no. Sure, they do flex more, but they are also more prone to damage from debris on the road.

I've seen a few SCCA cars like that, but honestly, hard lines aren't difficult to make once you get the hang of it.
