I'm not sure I'm doing this right! For a 650 hp BBC with 45 psi fuel pressure I would need 55# injectors?

injector size X 2 X number of cylinders X 80% duty cycle.
55 X 2 X 8 = 880 X.80=704HP
50 X 2 X 8 = 800 X.80=640HP

So would the 55's be a safe bet on a true 650 hp motor?

50's would be fine n/a but 55's will give you more room and even the 60's would be fine. I was running 50's and moved up the 60 high Z for some dry nitrous on my 491 which is barely south of 650 HP. Either would be fine. For a power adder I'd go 60 minimum at 45 PSI.
