I was wondering how some of the aftermarket torque arms improve traction, and anti hop over the factory units? Some are just beefier looking units with an adjustment for the pinion angle. They look like they are the same length. I can see haw the GW TA would be an improvement over the factory. If I understand how they work, the shorter the TA the more "lifting" force can be applied to the chassis from the rear end. Maybe I need a better understanding of how a TA works.

In simple terms, the shorter the arm, the higher anti-squat percentage. However, the shorter the arm, the higher the potential for brake hop. The longer the arm, the more rigid it needs to be in bending resistance as well (or better put, making a long arm rigid in bending is more difficult than making a shorter arm that can handle the same torque input).
Ah yes, trade-offs. You have to pick your battles.

(By the way, many of the aftermarket arms DO help a lot, but more in terms of strength rather than geometry changes. Look at some of the late Camaro forums for dudes that drag race with these pieces, power isn't a problem for the LS motors, but keeping the rest of the car together can be)
