I have already installed a firewall to frame brace in my 68 Camaro and I am going to make a removable cross brace similar to whats on Schwartzes frames pic # 1 . I was going to install them as in pic #2 but to me it looks like the hyme joint should be rotated 90 deg so that the bolt is 90 deg to the chassis not parallel. So if you discounect one end you can swing the rod frt to rear and not up and down. This would give the most resistance to frame twisting.
If this is correct should I angle the brackets up like in the left hand side of pic #3 and bend the tubing to fit the angle and go above the radiator hose or put the brackets flat and keep the tubing straight and go below the radiator hose? Clearance is not a problem either way.
Thanks Don

I'd do photo 2, and keep the tube as straight as possible, - no bends. A tube like that will help a little but not a whole lot. You need some diagonal bracing if you want to improve torsional rigidity. If the tube were in a "K" shape it would help much more.
