Figured i would post some new pics of my chevelle.. Recently completed the install of a 595hp/615lbs of torque Merlin 509.. As well as new factory fuel tank, aeromotive a1000 fuel system, power steering, masterpower brakes setup.. I have been working for the past 2 yrs on converting this from a factory suspension setup drag car to a more drivable, reliable street car.
Next step is a 5 speed.. I would love to hear your feedback.
Thanks..

Thats friggen sweet! Engine bay is very clean, helps that it was a straight line car before hand haha, lots of those guys like to smooth the firewalls.

WOW, Im impressed. Honestly i am not a big fan of a white muscle car. But that car pulls it off like no other. Engine is perfect. Not to much "bling", makes it down to buisiness with style. Love it!

Congrats, that's a very good looking car. The white combined with the dark rims (with clear/polished lips) looks smoking. Also impressed by the clean looking enginebay.
BTW, what kinda serpentine system is that your using?

I used a March mid-Mount serpintine kit.. It was pretty much bolt on with a long water pump and stock deck height.

Very nice. Like others have said, the white looks great. It's hard for me to tell from the photos - what did you do with the firewall? It looks flat, but it also looks like theres a texture? Maybe it's just my monitor, whatever, it looks great.

Zolatone is what the firewall is sprayed with.. I believe it was the onyx black.. It does not have much of a texture buts it a very durable finish and does very good at hiding any imperfections in my body work.

Those wheels look great. I've also got an A-body (69 gto) that I want to get new rims for. What is the backspacing on those rims?

Rear 20x10 w/6"
Front 18x8 w/4 1/2"
Tires are 295/40/20 and 265/40/18
Ideally, i could have gone 6 1/4" and been fine on clearance to the inside. Its a little tight on the outside but has never rubbed. I have rolled the lip yrs ago so that was not an issue.
One this to take into consideration, at least i did with my car. You will find that the axle is not centered in the wheel opening and when you try and stuff a tire that big in there it tends to be REALLY close to the rear of the opening and would rub on bumps.. I had BMR fabrication make a set of upper/lower adjustable control arms and actually pulled the axle forward in the car about 1/2-3/4". This made all the difference in the world. The only rubbing i have now is the drive shaft yoke on the floor board!.
You may or may not see this issue with the GTO body lines.. good luck
