It has been ages since I've posted any updates so here goes. The big news is that it was sent to the painter about a month ago. I visited yesterday to see the progress. A friend who is a professional painter is doing the work for me. He said he went through about 15 layers of paint to get to the original Hugger Orange. So far everything is in really good shape except the passenger quarter panel. Theres at least a half inch od bondo covering some extremely poor "body work". I'll try to keep the updates coming.

Basically all off the shelf bolt-ons but this is my first attempt at anything more than an oil change. . . oh yea I did add a sweeeeeet pinstripe, tailgate net and Jensen 6X9s to my first S-10 back in 91.

This WAS the temporary engine I currently have to put in the car when it gets back from paint so I can drive the car and save up for something better. Then the wife and I went to Autorama and on the way home she said "You realize that with our engine we will have to keep the hood closed on the car at any shows we take it to, right?" Dang now I have to throw even more money at a SWEET engine just to try and make that woman happy!!!!!!

Here is a pic from three years ago when I was actually able to drive the car. My friends and family think that I would rather work on the car than drive it. They might be right????

My painter just called and said he pulled the front and rear windows out, along with all the molding and didn't find any major surprises.

What the heck....I kept viewing it and they wouldn't get any smaller. Now I look at them and they are fine. Unless someone fixed them for me I don't have a clue.....

I also bought this car as a driver....drove it for about two or three summers then had to fix a trans pan leak. That was three years ago. "Man while I have it on jack stands I should upgrade the brakes....hmmm now that the breaks are off I should rebuild the rear end....You know it could use new bushings...."

HA HA HA HA HA I just noticed I spelled brakes as breaks on the last post. I guess I really am "The Rook"

My painter called me to come take a look at the car. IT IS FINALLY READY FOR PAINT......almost. He is going to do one final blocking and then it is ready for paint. He is hoping to be painting next weekend. He did spray one of the lower front fender extensions just to see the color.....it looked awesome. But I forgot to get a picture of that. Oh well, you all know what a Hugger Orange 69 Camaro looks like right? Anyways, heres some pics. Oh yea, it was even more awesome because I got to take my son to show him the car for the first time. He loved it, then he asked how soon he could get "his" car there to start painting. On the way home I told him lets get one 18 month and counting paint job done and home first and then we'll think about the second one.
